Default 3m Di-Noc compared to Scotchprint - Pic Inside

I wrapped my interior panels with 3M di-noc first due to all the scratches that looked terrible. I then found some people used a different material to wrap inside panels so I decided to buy some more and re-do it.

It was kind of confusing reading some peoples threads about what material was better / how it looked / what uses it had / etc.

As far as what material is better, the di-noc is definitely a little bit thicker, the "weave" is far larger than the scotchprint, and I believe the adhesive is different. It also has a dry look to it. (think they sell a wet looking style now though) I did use the Primer 94 also.

I think the scotchprint is more affected by heat, so it would probably melt or deform if you tried to wrap anything in the engine bay, thats where di-noc seems to do better.

Here is a comparison picture with the di-noc on the top and the new scotchprint on the bottom.

Personally I like the scotchprint way better.

I just have that waterfall piece to re-do then I'll put up some pictures of the final product.

scotchprint looks better. the 3m looks blue in that picture (although it looks normal in actuality) is this darker than the 3m in normal lighting??

I have my center done in the 3M... but the scotchprint looks great! But my personal taste, I like the 3M for the "dry carbon" look... but great job on the installation, I've seen some horrible installs with this!

The di-noc is almost two shades of gray I would say. The scotchprint is a solid black with gray and a clear over it.

I prefer the slick texture of the scotchprint better but the di-noc is pretty cool, I might use it to wrap some stuff in the engine bay. I just have my armrests and the radio console wrapped in the interior.

Both products are pretty easy to work with, my girlfriend helped me hold/stretch when needed so an extra set of hands makes it go real quick.

For $30-50 to cover up all the interior scratches you cant go wrong with either.

yeah dinoc is cool for white or red cars roofs, but it doesnt match well at ALL w actual carbon colors or on my flat black car.. totally night and day difference.

Its kind of a pain to work with too.. I may get some of this scotch stuff to redo the spokes of my momo with. Is it as stretchy?
As unsticky as dinoc is?
Does it try to return to its regular shpae when heated etc?

just curious?

I have the tubes of my intakes wrapped in Scotchprint and they are holding up just fine. However, I feel that it is very close to their limit, so anything that gets hotter than the intake tubes wouldn't hold up at all.

I have my dash/waterfall as well as my door switch covers done as well and they hold up perfectly and show no wear at all. Much better than the paint Nissan uses on those parts.

Since I have a real carbon lip kit on the outside of my car, I won't use scotchprint out there. Side by side there is no comparison to the real thing. Unless you were to throw a layer of resin over it...
