Default 2006 headlight upgrade problem

i am doing the 06 upgrade on my 04 touring and I got bulbs and everything placed. Now I can't get the round plastic piece back on... Any idea why? It just sits on top of where the bulb plugs into. Am I just not deep enough on the bulb? Everything seems to be secure and in as far as it will go

install the plug/bulb/ballast so the ballast is in the opposite direction.. its quite obvious from the photos that the ballast is sticking out too far.

ok, so basically turn it sideways like this pic? what about the little metal piece above it held on by a screw? should i remove that? attach it somewhere else? it seems to be getting in the way right now. im talking about the copper piece or w/e, not the part that you use to hold the lights in

The bulb connector (big metal piece, not the ballest) can be seperate from the actual bulb itself... its push on the twisted.... so twist the pull off...

To install... put only the bulb in the whole, then the clip thing secures the bulb in place.. then put the bulb connector on and twist clockwise....

Its not because of the direction the it is in cause my cap fits with the connector on either way. But i am pretty sure the connector goes how you have it in the second picture anyways.

I think that your buld is not seated right.

Could this be a D2S/D2R problem?

i have d2s bulbs and i did put the bulb in, then put the big metal piece on and still wouldnt close. :/

maybe i should just cut out the plastic cover so it can stick out a little and then just put something over it to seal it lol
