Default Rear View Mirror

I have a base model and I was looking at upgrading to the dim mirror with the homelink so I can sync my garage door with it. I tried searching it but didn't have much luck. Would it be that hard to swap mirrors out and would I have to run a power wire to the new mirror to make it work? Thanks for the help

One of the best ways to investigate electrical questions is to get a service manual (free on the internet).

And yes a new mirror needs several connections. R4 is a 10-pin connector for anti-dazzling. R1 is a 10-pin connector but not certain of the function. Whether either or both are pre-installed on the Base I do not know.
