Bumper Bar Nismo vs. Non-Nismo
I thought I had read a while back that the 2007-2008 Nismo had a different front bumper bar then the non-Nismo Z and that you couldn't swap bumpers without swapping the bumper bar.
I searched and I could not confirm this. Does anyone know if they use the same bumper bar or different?

The problem with removing it, even if you don't worry about crash protection, is that I believe the bumper bar connects both sides of the front sub-frame. Although I haven't studied the Z, many cars don't handle as well with the bar removed.
eh ive got a intercooler going in place of that, not to mention most cars also dont have front strut tower braces. plus again most cars nowadays dont even have metal bumper bars(im guessing the z might since the core support is fiberglass vs most cars having metal) and i know a giant foam block isnt gona improve chassis rigidity at all
i only know about the foam ones because of sending so many out to body shops when i worked at dealerships.

Correct. Impact foam is different. the non-nismo foam is much shorter and does not come anywhere near making contact with the back side of the nismo bumper.
I removed this foam and ran this past year without it. no noticeable effects.
I presumed he was talking about the aluminum impact beam across the front.

Thanks guys for the info. I am potentially putting a stock bumper onto my NISMO...alreadys scuffed up the NISMO one at the track and don't want to do more damage to it so thinking about running a stock front bumper since I had one laying around.
Funny that the bumper foams look different in the pictures but show the same number. Either way, as long as the bar itself is the same, I can always remove the foam if necesssary.

I don't think you will have a problem at all.
