Default Nismo US version

Anyone know when the Nismo US kit is coming out?
I thought it was supposed to be out by December.
December is almost over and I haven't heard any word of it.

Does anyone know?
Is there a good replica?

The consensus seemes to be you get what you pay for.

Should I wait or should I go with a replica?

Nissan said it will be out by Oct....... then Nov....... then Dec.... now they are telling me end of Jan!!! I got tired of waiting and installed one of our fiberglass replica kits. It's fine for now but I will change it with the factory stuff when/if it ever comes out. We sell a very nice imitation kit but you have to be very carefull as it's easy to damage. My nose has been repainted 3 times now!!

The US NISMO stuff is the same as the JDM stuff, which is readily available. Only difference from what I can tell is the US front is just a lip, whereas the JDM is a fulll front bumper.

I could be wrong here, but I was under the impression that the JDM stuff was plastic or fiberglass. Nissan's kit for the U.S. market is (quote) A Unique TPO material, same as genuine Nisan bumpers(end quote). This has been the whole hold up. The fit of the parts isn't as easy as the JDM stuff because the material for the U.S. market bends and flexs. Nissan understands how picky some of us are so they won't release it until it's right. The JDM stuff we got for our race cars was a bi*ch to install and took more time than we thought it would. It was not a simple bolt on.

From me or Gruppe-S. Both kits are high quality but require some final fit and finish. Call me or Jason if you would like more info. Also check out this link:

I got my replica Nismo kit from the good ppl at maautosports.com

Bunch of cool guys very good price and very negotiable

Regardless of what others say my kit was FRP and have been on my car for about 2 months now with no problems. Of course you must be careful going through speed bumps and such. Now when I got it installed there were some minor adjustments to be done but that is true for almost all if not all aftermarket kits. IMO you should get a replica kit while waiting for the real thing because the replica kit cost the same as just the bumper of some of these real kits also when/if the real thing hits the market you should only replace the front bumper with the real Nismo because it is the only piece in the kit that is threatened by bumps and curbs.

Jeff,

I just might get the replica wing while I wait for the authentic nismo kit. How does it fit and how much are you selling it?

The fit on our wings is some of the best I've seen to date. We manufacture these ourselves through our race shop so we have tweaked them to fit right. We sell them for $250.00. I do have a couple of brand X one's floating around here I would love to unload for cost... about $200.00 if you want one of those. For those you will have to do some sanding/filling and fitting to get it to sit right.

Jeff.......Have you given any thought to hooking up with a local body shop in order to sell your wings painted and (for local customers) installed? I like one stop shopping.

Is the PPW one hanging on your wall one of yours, or the brand X ones?

That is one of the high quality ones. We painted it the wrong color for a customer. If you want it I will sell it for $500.00 installed out the door.

Not sure? I was told by someone else it was no problem. When I get my car back from Modern Images I can throw one on and check.

Jeff,
Your price for locals....does that include the removal of the factory spoiler? I have a track model and want to put on a NISMO kit on. Like I said in other forums, I am from Northern CA and willing to travel for good service as the dealers up here appear to be ignorant.

Sure, we usually have to remove the stock spoiler as most the cars around seem to have them. We don't weld the holes that are left over. They are hidden under the new spoiler and we use some nasty silicone and tape to keep water out of the car. Call me... Jeff
