Default Lip kit install

I had a couple questions... I am about to buy a lip kit for my car and the only thing I see people saying to get is 3M™ Pressure Sensitve Acrylic Plus Foam Tape. I don't see a problem with that. I do see a problem is doesn't the foam tape kinda thick? Wouldn't the lip protrude a little further out from the bumper leaving a small gap between the two? If I could find a answer on this it would be much obliged.

I use 3m automotive mounting tape that's gray in color. Most well designed front lips have a slight edge to hide the double sided tape when mounted.

Alright so it has a very slight lip, alright, I thank you for the help. I just always thought it was just a flat surface and had to hope for the best. Cause I see on like Corolla S, or Scion tC, they have like a little gasket type thing between the lip and the bumper. I didn't know if that was to cover the gap.

The tape will help the lip adhere to the factory bumper and the screws will too. Only thing to consider is if you damge the lip and replacing it and cleaning up the residue will be a little more work...
