Hello all,
I was wondering if people with racing seats would be willing to list what they are using and also what their height/waist size to correspond. I know that may be a bit personal to some, but as I am 6'3" 200lbs, and a 36-38" waist, so I do not fit into a lot of seats. And a lot of bigger seats don't fit in the 350, so I was hoping to get a list of the different seats people are running and what size drivers would be a good fit for said seats.
Here is the format I would ideally be looking for:
Seat Brand:
Seat Model:
Rails:
Drivers Height:
Drivers Waist Size:
With a roll cage?
Additional Opinions of this setup:
Thank you!

rawlz. if you're in redondo, and you want to see what custom rails are like. come sit in my Sparco evo 2 with custom seat rails so you can see what its like to practically sit on the floor.... PM me
5'2" Filipino's like myself, would probably need the taller rails!
Seat Brand: recaro
Seat Model: spg
Rails: recaro
Drivers Height: 5'8"
Drivers Waist Size: 31
With a roll cage? no
Additional Opinions of this setup: slightly higher than stock... id estimate about an half inch or inch but roof clearance (even with helmet) isnt a problem for me nor is the visibility but it does feel slightly high. seat mount feels very heavy... seat is incredibly light but the seat mount adds about 20lbs. I will eventually go for a fixed aluminum to save weight and get a slightly lower seating position.
P.S. if anyone gets buddy club sliders/brackets, make sure to check the welds...

Surprised you aren't getting any more input here. I'm looking to get into some race seats soon.. I'll post up what I can as I get through the process. Will probably be using Sparco Corsa and Evo2 seats.
Op sounds like the Sparco EVO 2+ might be right up your alley, you should check it out. As far as rails go you will probally have to get some made or modify some because the seat might be to wide to fit in most aftermarket rails.
the biggest seats are the Corbeau FX-1

Seat Brand: Kirkey Racing
Seat Model: 47700 (17in road racing seat)
Rails: no
Drivers Height: 6'4
Drivers Waist Size: 36-38
With a roll cage? no
Additional Opinions of this setup: seat is mounted to OEM seat holes with custom bracket. No rail, and mounted pretty far back. With a drill I could move it up 3-4in. Sits about 2-3in lower than stock. Comfortable seat, however feel much more connected to the chassis compared to stock, and crappy roads will rattle your teeth.

Doesn't look like the thread is going anywhere so I'm going to hijack it a little bit....no sense in starting a whole new thread. I'm also 6'4" but pretty thin so this still applies.
Anyway, my 350Z is my DD but I'm also going to the track about 4-6 times a year and there is definitely a need for a better seat. My left knee is sore at the end of a track day from bracing it against the door.
What I'd like to have is a fairly inexpensive race seat (Kirkey) that I can put in for a weekend at the track and them put the oem seat back in for the rest of the time. Are there seats with factory made mounts that fit in the stock bolt holes for doing this? Or does someone have to custom build the mounts?
And yes, I would need the seat to be as far back as possible.
Any info much appreciated.
GT-Rob, did the custom bracket you mention come from Kirkey, or did you make it? If you made it, could you share how? Finally, with your set-up, how hard would it be to get the oem seat back in? Thanks.

Seat Brand: Bride
Seat Model: XAXII
Rails: Bride, adapted at a race shop to sit super low (about 1/2 inch off the floor)
Drivers Height: 6'1"
Drivers Waist Size: 36-38
With a roll cage? NO
Additional Opinions of this setup: Seat is JUST wide enough. I use Sparco harness' and harness bar. Holds me in well and I have no complaints.

Seat Brand: Sparco
Seat Model: Corsa (driver), EvoII (passenger)
Rails: Custom driver base, Modified Sparco passenger seat base and Sparco aluminum side brackets
Drivers Height: 5'9
Drivers Waist Size: 32
With a roll cage? Kirk bolt-in rollbar/harness
Additional Opinions of this setup: Tried to use Megan Racing bases - holes did not line up to the side brackets, plus these looked pretty cheap. Not using sliders.
The Sparco driver side base lined up with all the mounting holes both to the car, and to the seat - HOWEVER - the seat was way far back. I had to move the seat so far forward that the side brackets were hanging over the base by about 2-2/12 inches. So, had the shop totally fabricate a new driver side seat base. The height was right about where stock would be. I love the Corsa seat..perfect.
The passenger sparco seat base lined up with 3 out of 4 of the mounts to the car. So, needed to customize it and reinforce because there was some bend when testing it out. Height seems like stock, sufficient and comfortable leg room for someone my height.

I'm gonna be a complete noob on this question, and i'll apologize in advance. I recently picked up a pair of corbeau forza seats for my z. i'm googling it, but no results are actually stating which rails/brackets actually fit the seat without modification. I'm 6'6 215 lbs. so the lower the better. can anyone help?
Take a look at these. I think you can get them to sit lower if you skip the slider rails.
