Cf hatch question
A cf hatch just popped up on Craigslist near me. got a few questions though. My z is NOT garaged. Once in a blue moon it gets garaged. is there any point in gettin a hatch if my Z's not garaged? or are there things I can do to keep it from getting faded, etc.. (even if I've got to work my *** off)

If you live in AZ like me or even worse in CA ( i get burned there in less than an hour even on cloudy days..toooons of bad UV there) then no, youre toast. It WILL turn yellow regardless of clear at some point sooner than youd like.. but.. who cares? Such is the nature of CF..
do you need the trunk tho? IE, are you trying to go light?

^ fer sure.
OP clear helps.. but it will still turn more yellow after awhile.. in terms of OXIDIZING, yes, clear will cut that..
my VS hood gets gross fast as its just resin.
BUT..
if it realy bugs you, you can always sand it down w 2000 grit and re clear it and get rid of yellow in the future. .
if its hella cheap, id also still buy it if the hinge bolt areas are good still. Might as well. stock hatch is heavy as all living hell.

Unless you live in a sunbelt area,I've found that keeping some good wax on my CF parts
does the trick.Of course, parts like deck lids are gonna take more maintenance.
It really takes very little time to put a coat of wax on your CF parts every time you wash your car.

True I live in NY lol. Not sure where the OP is from. The summers here are pretty bad to me, and winter usually covers my car in snow at least once a season (with the exception of this year woot woot!! lol). I say if you're just doing it for the cf look and you live somewhere with extreme weather conditions then dont do it. On another note, I'm not sure about you guys but I dont drive with my windows all the way down on the highway b/c of the wind, maybe im just paranoid though. These are all things you should take into account.
