Question help needed regarding HID kit!!

Hi everyone, i owned a base model and i want to put on a HID kit. I got this Philips 6000k HID kit from my old prelude and i dont kno if i can put it into my z. Do i have to change the HID bulbs since my prelude used H1 bulbs? the owner's manual says that i must use D2R 35W output bulbs. the ones n the HID kit are 35w and i dont kno whether they are D2R or D2S. wut is the difference between D2R and D2S? any tips for installation?
Thanks for u help!!!!
&happy new year!

for the base model you will need h7 bulbs. d2r and d2s are for models that come with hids. d2r are for reflector assemblies and d2s are for projector lamps.

i called Kansai Lightning Service. they told me it would run me $190 for the H7 bulbs, and they r Philips (German) made. They also have the 7000k bulbs, made n japan, are probably n lower price; those r more blue-ish. Hows the price? fair?

$190 for Philips bulbs are way overpriced. If you are at all mechanically inclined, you can turn D2R / S bulbs into H7 bulbs. Check out my install:

Its really not that hard. If you have a dremmel and are careful not to touch the HID bulb, you'll have no problems.

7000K is for rice rockets. Its so blue IMO that it causes eye strain. Plus the light output is lower. If you get lights from Japan like that, they are cheap knockoffs with the blue coating like you find in Walmart. The Z deserves better.

what would happen if i fit the Philips H1 bulb in there instead of a H7? would it has the same light output? cuz i found they r the same light bulbs except the size difference of the base.

It all depends on your level of engineering skills. You somehow need to create an H7 base on your H1 bulb so that the metal clip that holds everything in place will prevent it from rotating.

FYI - always have the insulator wire at the bottom of the housing.

is h1 better than h7 and i suppose D2S is a lot better than the both of them? if i buy a 4500k h7 HID kit for my base model, will have just as good of an output as the stock HIDS?

It's my understanding that H1/H7/D2S are numbers indicating the type of housing for your bulb base.

AS for buying a 4500K kit....yes, it will closely resemble the stock output. I can show you pics of my 4300K high beam install if you want to compare colors. I have stock HID system, + the 4300K install.
