That is not a cage, just a proper rollbar to protect you when using a harness and proper fixed bucket race seat.

+1 for a rollbar as a minimum if you are going to be harnessed inside the car. Minimum rollover protection is needed since harnesses will not allow your body to move in a roof crush like a 3 point seatbelt would.

Would you happen to know off the top of your head an estimate for a roll bar like this? I called but they didn't pick up.

We carry Autopower, which makes a nice bar for the 350Z. If you want to run harnesses, a roll bar is an EXTREMELY good idea. The part number for the 350Z roll bar is 52174. This includes the harness bar.

As someone mentioned above, the harnesses won't let your body move in the event of a roof crushing impact. Without a roll bar, your at a very high risk of head, neck, and spinal injuries. These are the kinds of injuries that can have you hooked to machines for the rest of your life or in a wheel chair or unable to tie your own shoes.

Either do it the right way, or don't do it at all. The OEM 3-point belt is more than enough for the street and even light tracking. There's several products on the market that allow you to lock the OEM seat belt so that it holds you in place better during spirited driving.

You've got to be crazy to still buy a bolt in harness bar if a roll bar is only $200 more.

^ It seems as if the kirk racing one is bolt on while the autopower one is weld in. It will be a bit more $ if someone like myself were to have to pay a shop to weld one in as I have not found a major need to buy a mig/tig welder yet.

Both companies offer bolt in or weld in. You can also weld in, the bolt in bar, if it makes you feel better.
