Default Removing the COMPLETE antenna assembly.

I searched high and low for a simple set of instructions that described how to completely remove the antenna, and all I got were threads about the simple twist off piece. I need to remove the whole assembly, I mean to the point where I have a blank hole in my quarter panel. Any help appreciated.

I'll be doing this soon. If you happen to do it before I do, post up if there were any difficult parts ha. I will do the same.

I'll try it myself this weekend, and maybe do a write-up.

Hi
I want to do this to replace the FM aerial with a DAB one.
Has anyone documented the steps (with pics!) ?

Thanks

open hatch and remove plastic and sterofoam from surround area
remove antenna
remaining antenna base has a cap to
turning it counter clock wise will free it
on the inside of the trunk remove bolt
should dangle free

Pretty much what he said..

Unthread the antenna itself, then unthread the antenna base and pull I out from inside the trunk.

It is fairly easy, start from inside, I had to remove it to wrap my car.

Hahaha forgot about this thread. I figured it out later that night after posting. Didn't get a chance to do a write-up, but I mounted the antenna to the interior chassis and had the hole filled and painted.

Thanks!
Is there any sequence to removing the plastic? or just a case of pulling the bit closest to the aerial?

Will be doing this weekend as long as the rain holds off

It's not exactly round, here's a picture. I am talking to a machinist I know to make a plug for me to see if I can get it to work.

LOL

With the weather we have been having, snow / ice, he hasn't made it to my job. We've been talking about it and I've sent him pics. I'm talking to another guy I know as well just in case one doesn't work out. They do their high dollar jobs first, which I understand. Sucks for me though hah

Bump for a nice easy way to fill that hole... I was thinking of fiberglass on the back side and bondo the hole... If their is a nice easy fix that would be great.
