Default Racing stripes on the Z?

How would you guys think this would look on the Z roadster? 2 white racing stripes running bumper to bumper on a daytona blue roadster. Kinda like the ones on the dodge viper. Has anyone ever done this on any z? Any pictures or photoshops? Your thoughts?

Racing stripes are for classic domestics, IMHO. (i.e. 1969 Camaro SS)

Beyond ghey. That Viper's got stripes because it's got *****. See GT 500, Shelby Cobra, '04 Ford GT.

Tough crowd here.

I say GO FOR IT! Think about the outer edges of the stripes equal to the grill opening.

Mini skirts are coming back so why not racing stripes?

BTW......I checked out performance #'s of a '65 Shelby Mustang a while ago, and the Z blows it away! I'll try and find the article.

Go for the racing stripes. They are not just for domestic muscle cars. I assume no one here has seen the MG's, Austin Healey's, Lotuses (Loti) from the 60's with racing stripes. Many sports cars have been adorned with racing stripes. It is just a part of the heritage.

At one time, countries had official racing colors. About the only country that still uses their color is Italy. A racing Ferrari just doesn't look right in any color other than red. The US colors were a white body with blue stripes. Check out the Cunninghams at LeMans in the early 50's.

If you like the looks of stripes, I see nothing wrong with having them. Be sure to post some pictures so you can show everyone how good it looks.

If a Mini Cooper can have racing stipes, then so can a Z.

Thumbs up Hey..

How about this..

DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY!

Who gives a rats *** what the tools on this board think?

Personally, I would not....even though my built Z can crush the ***** of any Viper =)

Its all about what YOU think looks good....

P.S. Les, is the plural of Lotus, Loti?
haha!

Yep--the plural of Lotus is Loti. Or at least that is the terminology Colin Chapman used to employ.

Go for it. I was looking at my hood and I think that the straight lines of the stripes might clash with the diagonal scallops in the hood though. Or not.

As for sports car racing heritage vs. twin stripes: they're technically called "Le Mans stripes". Any questions?

Funny to hear that Chapman used the term "Loti". My buddy & I always have, and we thought we were being clever :P. Just goes to show there's nothing new under the sun.

I'm a fan of them:
