Default Plastic Piece Under OEM Bumper?

On my 2006 z, under the front bumper or fender, do underneath the car essentially, there is a strip of plastic, probably about 6 feet long that goes across the bottom of the bumper. From scraping the ground occadionally, it got a little tore up. The one sode was hanging down a little so i just cut it off. It doesnt look like it serves much of a purpose and i was thinking of just cutting it off. It cuts right off with a razor. Sorry for some typos i sm using my phone

You're probably referring to the OEM Chin spoiler that was available for the track models, here is a thread on it:

I was thinking the same thing but 6 ft. is as wide as the car itself.

This part is basically useless. How it could help anything aerodynamically, beats me.
When the 350 came out in 03,this chin spoiler was part of the "aero" package that
included the OEM rear spoiler.I included this option when I ordered my 03 Touring.
Per Waizzz's post,it may have come on the Track as OEM.It was offered on my Touring
also.I just cut the sucker off when I installed my Mine's lip

Yeah the only way you can take it off is to actually cut it off. What happened was I hit a small curb and a small piece of it tore off, now I just want to either cut the rest of it off or get another one so it looks correct again. Does this piece actually come with the bumper, or is it something separate from the bumper? I obviously am not going to replace the whole bumper if it comes attached to the bumper, but if it is a separate piece then I could just order it through Nissan and I would be fine with spending a couple bucks like that. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated!

Is there a name for this part or is it just part of the spoiler?

As someone above said, it's the OEM chin spoiler and was a part of the aero package.

It helps generate a bit of a low pressure under the front of the car, helping the car to achieve "zero lift" at speed.

If you have an OEM bumper it can only be either the chin spoiler or the plastic undershroud, there is nothing else under the car.

Post a photo if you're still confused

If you look under the front bumper, basically underneath the car, there is a very small black piece that hangs maybe a half inch down, it is about 5 feet long or so, this is the piece I am referring to.

That is what everyone is referring to. Four bolts and remove:

If that's the case then I will remove it. I looked at it and it looks like it is a part of the bumper it self, I didn't realize it was bolted on....

Now that I think about it, I think there is a portion of the 06+ bumper that hangs down a 1/2 an inch that IS part of the bumper. The optional chin spoiler hangs down more like an inch and is noticeably bolted on. Again, a picture could have avoided all this confusion.
