Looks awesome man. By any chance I might order this and attempt this my self .
My car is gray now and was going to try black. With the few baby dings I have my question is how much/worse would it show after vinyl , and also if I felt I couldn't accomplish this where would or could I go to have this done ? What would something like this coast labor wise ? Think everyone viewing or browsing this thread was wondering the same and if you or anyone can chime in . Thanks !

From what I have seen the cost for the material ranges from $300-1500. I've had a few people PM me about where to buy so... The cheapest place I found was on eBay from seller Autovinylsolutions. Thomas is awesome with customer service if you decide to do this yourself.

The labor involved costs anywhere from $2,000-5,000.

Some places will just gouge out your paint when they trim the vinyl. I use a brand new Xacto blade for every panel and am surgical with it, experience from when I used to build Gundam models in childhood.

Do you recall how much material it took for the top part of your side mirrors? Looking to do mine in white or black and now I just can't decide if a 1x1 ft piece would do it.

Thanks peeps.

@logan: I didn't measure it, I cut out maybe an open magazine sized piece for each mirror. Don't cheap out, save yourself the headache and buy 1x5.'

nice job on the car. Autovinylsolutions are great sellers. They are located here in San Antonio so anytime I need something I just drive over there and pick it up. Great customer service.

Sparco did you use any of the 3m prime 94 adhesive on the corners? I bought a quart of it from autovinylsolutions when I did the interior and rear valance on my vette to keep the material for every lifting.

got any general idea of how much to buy to wrap a full z..... given you'll obviously need a lot extra to be safe???

I made a possible deal with a professional to get mine done. but he's never done a solid color before, only full "printed" wraps for businesses.

Definitely agree, AVS has been awesome. I did not use any primer but bought some just in case. I just paid extra attention while cleaning the corners/edges. I extended the material in certain areas for added security.

This looks great. If I had a larger garage to work in, I would be doing this too. I think a color change would reignite my interest in the Z.

Thanks, it totally has for me, I'm wrapping the Evo next. I did it outside in nasty cold weather, at times with wind and rain, under an awning though. I wouldn't suggest doing it this way.

if you were to wrap your interior such as around the shifter and such, does it peal any of the interior paint off with the vinyl when you decide to remove it?

If you get premium vinyl- 3M, Hexis, Avery etc you won't have any issues, can't say about all the other China stuff flooding the market. Even then the cheap stuff really isn't much cheaper than quality vinyl.

It's contagious, but does require a great deal of time and patience.
