Well looks like most likely I will have to get rid of the Z but seeing if it would be optional to actually put a child seat in the front seat. Obviously I would need to disable the passenger side airbag to make it safe. Thoughts?

It's your kid man. im sure you trust your own driving abilities, its the other morons on the road i wouldnt trust. There's a reason you put the car seat in the middle.

There is a child seat latch on the passenger side in the hatch area, so Nissan did design the car so that you could put a child seat there, Instructions should be in the users manual. Obviously drive careful and use defensive driving - thats the safest and surest way to protect yourself and your kid.

Man up and get rid of the car and buy a family car. That was a hard decision in my life, but i rather have a safe transportation for my son. You need to give up a couple things in life, you can always get back into a car later. Once i graduate i will be back in a Z this coming new year, but i will have my family car to. I got rid of the Z two years ago so not long of a wait. You got a child so time to sacrifice just for a bit and then get back in when you can afford both cars.

jeebus dude. Wake up and realize Nissan made a 350z with 4 doors. I got rid of my 2 seater 6mt and moved into a 05 G35 rev-up Sedan. if you can spring for it go for the 2007-2008 G35 6mt Sedan. My child is extremely safe in the rear and middle using 2 latches and a tether in a radian xtsl car seat. I get RWD 6mt Sedan with Rev-up, VLSD, and Leather. I had to make small adjustments so we can both have what we want. He wants to ride around with daddy and I want to actually have fun driving without worring about risks of commuting a child in a 2 seater sports car and the millions of morons on the road. Trade in the 2 seater and pick up a real vehicle. What do you love more your unborn child or your oil burning, knocking, 100k mile old vq that will die in the next 10 yrs.

Just get a beater 4 door and don't put your child in the front of a two seater sports car or get rid of your Z. I don't think it's a good idea and it's illegal in some states to have a child under the age of 6 in the front seats of any car.

+1 , but I like the Recaro baby seat that is in my Juke. I would have bought the 4 door G but my wife wanted a Juke instead. So we traded her Z for the Juke, I kept my Z and bought a Grand Cherokee for baby hauling.

hellz yeah. Look at the impressive specs and if the dude does not even know about the possibility of a child seat in a 350z than I doubt he knows anything about baby car seats. Everyone mentions recaro due to the marketing behind it and association with race car seats. After much research the best car seat that I could find was radian XTSL. I drops names like I drop bishes...naw not really

Edit: New radian r120/RXT will last 10 years and handles 120lbs fat babies

RADIAN XTSL 80
Product Features

Rear-facing: 5 - 45 pounds; Forward-facing: 20 - 80 pounds (53") in a 5-point harness

Steel alloy frame, aluminum reinforced sides and adjustable side-impact safety headrest

SuperLATCH installation up to 80 pounds - no seat belt required with SafeStop energy absorbing harness system

All Zs have a weight sensitive air bag sensor, turns off the airbag when a passenger is in the seat with a weight lower than an adult, and it stays on when the passenger weighs more. Seat belt has to be buckled though for the sensor to activate. either way still not safe for the babies.

His budget is 15k so I think that will get you 4 GTR seats, 4 GTR wheels and maybe brembo calipers if you are lucky. No engine or transmission so you will have to drive it flintstone style.

Just remove the airbag and drive safe. You can do the resistor trick to turn the blinky light off.

+1 don't put your kid in danger by having them in the front seat (baby car seat or not).
