Default Look at what i did to my Stock Shift ****

Is there anyone else out there that has had an issue / difficulty removing the stock shift **** from the Z like i have? I twisted skin off of my hands trying to get this thing off literally. With both my Evo and Sti before was a simple twist off with a little amount of pressure to change a shift ****. I Used vicegrips, hammer, saw for my Z. I have an 04 Z 30k Miles. took ownership of it a few months back. Car has Almost 10 years with stock shift ****. Until I changed it just recently. I ended up removing the shift assembly and took out the **** screwed on to the Lever in order to get it off had to do some damage. No damage was done to any shifting assembly, lever or Transmission. Just the ****. Here is what it looks like now.

I also noticed some kind of Glue or sealer once it was all off? Is that common for the 350z?

Enjoy.

New Neo Chrome shift **** installed

I'm assuming the person before you thought glue would solve the problem...... Mine unscrews fine. They might have stripped it a little and didn't want it to slip around

Seems myself and a few others have had this problem. but majority seem to say it's an easy twist off.
