Default so no one has done the "engine start "mod?

i'm still twitching, kicking, punching to see if someone has installed one on their z. once again i know it's associated with the s2000 but many highend cars have it as well=)

p.s. anyone ever been to this site...search engine for the "engine start" button.

hehe exactly.

the FX45 has a transmitter in the key, if your near the car, its unlocked, and you can get in, no pushing the key or anything, then when you get in, it knows the keys inside the car, and just push the button to start it. never take the keys out of your pocket.

similair system on the SL500 and other cars Im sure.

i believe most of the Mercedes have this feature (as an option)
it'll be really cool (and convenient) if we can get this kinda thing in our cars
and i think its possible too.
if only cost is not high (may be a group buy?)

I dont know how integrated it is. might be set up all the way down the the ECU. which would be impossible to install. seems like it could be installed just like a remote start/alarm.

if you think about it...then it's fairly simple to steal the car. i mean it makes it somewhat easier as far as time is concerned lol.

example:there is about 100 cars in a parking lot*thinking like watching a movie* and basically 20 fx45 are in the lot(famous restaurant) you steal the keys from the valet(maybe you are the fake valet) and you start to run toward all the fx45's lol and the one that opens TADA!-then again you can find it with the car alarm key lol.

I was thinking a place that is somewhat hidden...or visual different. that way someone would turn the key and the car wont start...then we can say "man, what did you do to the car!" ha ha!~ then poof the secret button shows up *vroooooooom*

i dont' mind the one second effort heh heh heh.

heh; make the warning flashers the start button.

I think there is more to the system on the unlock feature. I remember there was something to keep it from unlocking just by walking near it... had to push a button on the handle to unlock it. so it wouldnt just unlock when you happened to walk past it. but yes; if you had the key, it would speed things along, or if you could just find the right signal.(works for garage doors, though Id assume itd have a rolling code or something similair)

Actually, thats why they give the valet key...It should have these things disabled or not included. They will have to unlock and start the car manuelly. I am not certain on this but it would make A LOT of sense.

probably so, there is still a key hole, and an ignition. so a key still functions as it should.

The FX35 has this also, you have to push a button on the handle when you get close, it will not just open.

Americans are lazy.... AHAHAH! (joke)

It's nice though... push button start is nice. The other luxurious features.... on a sports car? I don't know... call me old fashioned.

well its a sports car but not a track car
hmmm for me that is
so if i could have some comfort with the sports, then i'll go for it
this keyless thing is so cool cuz looking for the key during winter is crazy. its cold, and so many pockets
also times like hands r wet or holding some stuff, this will definelty help
so someone get this on the Z
