So I have been searching for a while on the forums about the fuel door not closing properly but didnt find anything with the same problem I'm having. So heres the question:

I go to fill up yesterday, fuel door opens fine on the first button push and that has never been a problem. After I'm done filling up i go to close the fuel door and it will not for the life of me "click" into place to stay closed. After about 5 minutes of messing with the release point, and trying to close the door, it eventually closes. I haven't opened it since (it was yesterday). Anyone have this issue? and what the fix was? It seems that maybe some WD40 might be in order but just thought I'd see what you guys think first...

 

mine has problems on occasion, i just jiggle it and it pops in, never taken like 5 minutes though....

 

Maybe it seemed longer that it was because there was a long line at the gas station behind me and I was frustrated. lol

 

haha yeah I mean I just assumed it was normal for it to not like slide into place perfectly.

 

Mine is the same, it has to be just so for it to click home and it's been like that since i bought the car.

 

It's just odd because my Z has about 59,000 mi and that's the first time it's happened...
