Default Inner Fender Removal vs. Rolling

How many people have removed their inner fenders as opposed to rolling them? I am considering doing so because I don't want to take the chance of paint cracking around the fenders from rolling them.

Can anyone think of some reasons why I should definitely NOT remove my inner fenders? This car is my daily driver. Thanks for the input!

If you are talking about the front, you will get water in the headlights when it rains. You will get rocks hitting the inside of your fenders and get dings that will probably lead to cracks in your paint. You will also get the rock dings in the back. Overall, I think removing the inner fender liners is not a very good idea. Nissan put them there for a reason.

Rolling your fenders implies your rolling the sharp edge thats metal that is located next to your wheel. The plastic fender wells don't have much to do with getting your tires and what not to fit. It's all about getting that sharp edge to go away. Here's a picture for you to consider.

Long story short here... don't remove your wheel wells. That's not going ot help you at all.

keep the liners for sure…absolutely if this is a daily driver…and you can't really roll your front fenders in the first place…there isnt much room to gain, and if you do roll them you will need to either remove your liners or modify them because they mount to the fender's inner crease.

You rear wells don't have liners so it'll be hard to remove them until you find them...

I wouldn't remove the inner fenders because your fenders will lose its structural integrity and if anything hits or rubs your fenders they will crumple and be ruined

there is some major issues with aero if you take your inner fenders out. Trust us. Roll your fenders. The fronts don't really need to be rolled just finished and cleaned up depending on how low you are

Good luck

Wow, thanks everyone. That helped a lot. The reason I asked is because I spoke with three shops today regarding new tires and wheel spacers that I want to have installed in a couple weeks. Below are the specs. Please let me know what you think about the shops' opinions.

2003 350z - Completely stock suspension and OEM 18" wheels
To be installed:
225/45/18 (front)
25mm spacers (front)
255/40/18 (rear)
30mm spacers (rear)

Two of the shops suggested fender rolling with this setup. Shop #3 suggested decreasing my spacer size by 5mm all around. Shop #3 was very surprised by the fact that I wanted to put "such huge wheel spacers" on my car and said that my tentative selection could lead to issues down the road - especially if I track the car (which I won't be doing while it's a DD. I do drive aggressively from time to time though, of course)

From what I've read in the wheel spacer thread, I should be fine with no fender rolling (stock wheels and suspension). I even read about several people on that same thread that frequently track their cars with spacers. At the end of fhe day, this is my DD so I'd rather just play it safe if needed.

Any further thoughts? Again, your input is much appreciated.

I'm pretty sure everyone talking about removing the plastic fender liners misunderstood the OP. he's talking about cutting the metal away that would typically be rolled up.

^^^ rear offsets must be weak if that doesn't need a roll.
