How did you mount your front license plate? Did you use the two holes that came drilled with the bumper (where the JDM license plate would be located) or separate?

No, I used my DIY license plate bracket which bolts to the tow hook hole. Detals here...

I'm going to modify it a bit so that the plate sits exactly in the middle of the grill (top to bottom) to get rid of the infamous "Chipmonk' effect. Ever look at an RX-8 from straight on with a license plate? What were they thinking?

Well, that's how it came off the boat. I pointed this out to my dealer before I took delivery, and he 'conveniently' couldn't see it. I notice it on every Z I see. The urathane pieces (bumper covers and fuel filler) just don't match the paint on the metal pieces. The darker colors (SB and BY) are a much closer match, but up close I can still see the difference.

I need to have the rear bumper cover repainted anyway, so I will get that matched up better then.

As far as those splashguards above, I'd have to see them on my car before I'd consider buying them. Thanks for the suggestion. Who makes them?

The new paint on the bumper cover matches the hood/fenders far better than the factory job ever did. Phillips did a very good job. I'm going to take the rear bumper cover to them soon.

Yea, if this ice and snow ever leave, we need to hook up. Did you get your RE short shifter installed?
