Default Did my first major mod.. 3d Carbon bodykit with C-20 replica spoiler

Hey guys, so other than the audio system and Nismo shift **** I've put in my Z, this was the first real major mod I've done to it, and I thought I'd share some photos of my '08 Roadster with the body kit and spoiler as mentioned in the title. I'm pretty happy with how it came out. Up next: 20" Niche Milan flat black rims, wider in the back to hopefully give it a "hunched" stance.

Looks good but I would avoid 20's if possible. It belongs to that escalade in the pictures. Get a nice 19's.

A lot more cars are running 20's these days (escalades are sitting fat on 24's yo, LOL) but the Z is not one of them and never should be. Listen to these guys OP and go with 19's.

I'd recommend reinforcing the center bar on the front bumper. I've seen it start to sag on two different z's here in SoCal.

Thanks for the compliments, I like how it looks as well.

Hmm ok maybe I'll do 19's. do 20's look bad on them?
Was thinking 20's to fill the wheelwell pretty good.
Not planning on dropping it.

I was looking for the word "staggered" not
Hunched lol.

20's tend to be heavier. 19's are perfect size for looks and function. It also give you little room if your roads are bad.

OP, car looks nice!

Why don't 20's look nice on a Z? I'm a noob so go ahead and lay into me. I just got my Z in June and my last car was a 2010 camaro SS. The SS came with 20's and looked nice, granted that car was gianormus so the rims didn't look as big. I guess that maybe the reason? 20s actually look like 20s on a Z?

Thanks AroundMyHorn... I wish both of those threads had more pictures, but I can see what you guys mean. 20" seem to kind of overpower the car, and seem a bit too big for such a small car. I think I am gonna go with 19's

19's max for the Z. 18's can also look good if the car is lowered sufficiently.

I am thinking these in machined black. I like the classic 5 spoke look, and want to get some flat black wheels:

Offsets are kind of weak but it's a nice looking wheel. You want 9.5 for the front and at least +22 or below and the rear would be a preferred 10.5 +22 or lower. However, you could buy the widest size they have and add a spacer to the rear. I would try to get it right the first time though and get proper size wheels and forgo the spacer.

Man, I really like the side profile of that bumper.

Nice work.

Hmm, okay, thanks. It looks like they don't make the Milan in 19x10.5, so I'd perhaps need to look at another wheel. I'll have to look more into wheel specs to
even understand what you mean as far as the +22, to be honest. Why do you
think they need to be so wide? Would it look weird/bad to have 9.5 on the back
and 8.5 on the front ones?

That kit looks pretty good, I love the way the rear looks!!

Please dont get 20" rims, 18 or 19" only!! Also cars look funny at stock ride height with after market rims. I know you said you dont want to lower but at least get some Tein springs. They give you a minimal drop but will make a world of a difference with your rim set up.

Ok, yeah, I'll look into those. I had an Acura Integra before that I dropped pretty dramatically, and I really did not like bottoming out all the time if I didn't slow down to like 5 miles an hour to enter a parking lot or go over a speed bump, but maybe with a less dramatic drop it would be more tolerable. As far as the kit, yeah I think it made the back end look a lot better, especially in combination with the spoiler. I feel like I did give up some looks with the roadster, with the benefit of being able to take the top down during these hot New Mexico summers, and I think the back end is the most awkward looking section stock with the roadster. I feel like the kit and spoiler cleaned up the lines a little bit, instead of just having one long and circular line from the back of the trunk to the bottom.
