Question Stock Bumper vs Lip vs Aerosync - For Rough Roads

So, I have an '04 Z Enthusiast that has a no name lip installed. It's painted and looked really nice! Well, that was until I moved to LA and into my apartment complex...

The lip was only two weeks old and looked great until the very first time I drove down the slant to get out of my complex. No matter what angle or speed I go, it scrapes... And not a little either, it bends and scrapes!

So here's my question: What should I do to not go back to the ugly *** stock bumper, but also not destroy the next thing I buy, have color matched, and install?

Suspension is stock, I have the standard Z 17" rims, and stock tire size.

stock bumper looks 1000x better than that snow plow of a lip you have/had...

but if i were you, i'd buy the polyurethane aerosync bumper.

I want an Aerosync, but is it going to be lower than what I have on there now? Because if it is, it'll just get destroyed.

Get the Polyurethane Aerosync and it won't get destroyed.

So you're saying the Aerosync isn't as low as the stock bumper with a lip installed?

If you're already scraping badly at stock height, I wouldn't put money into a quality bumper/lip. If you're hard-pressed for an aftermarket look, I would look into the Stillen front diffuser; cheap, looks decent, no paint required and it will take a beating.

The lip I have is Poly, luckily. Which is why it bends instead of breaks. The paint is all scraped to the poly in front and underneath it now though. And it's spyder cracked on top and is starting to come off.

I'm assuming I shouldn't get a front number until after I move in a year or two...

It's not just height, but that lip sticks forward a lot which will scrape more. So if you got something that wasn't a plow, it could be just as low and not scrape as much.

I had the the Stillen diffuser on my 07' for awhile, scraped a lot of in-drives. With it un-installed, I don't scrape anymore. IMO, stock looks better, with stock ride height

I would just get a real or replica veilside front lip. Best looking lip in my opinion.

think the design of the front lip you currently have is more the issue vs it being polyurethane
maybe try ings front lip as i have heard they are pretty durable and more forgiving on slants due to the design

other good options are the veilside & mines front lips
or as suggested, the aerosync in polyurethane.
