Default new rag top leak

I had a new conv. top put on and now I have extreme leak at rubber seal on the back under the window where the top meets the body, any suggestions; the shop that put on the top doesn't know what to do.

Is this an oem top or aftermarket? And are you sure they installed it correctly?

How bad would you say the leak is?

Take it to the dealer and have the shop pay to finish what they started but couldn't do. That's a lot of water and mold is sure to be close behind .

I don't have a lot of faith that a dealer could fix the problem. I think most dealers sub-contract all of their convertible top work.

Yes they most likely will contract out, I saw this where they called some sub par company to patch someone's top.

Take it back to where you got it put on. Mold will happen and maybe electrical issues.

Two potential problems could cause this: The rearmost (5th) bow located under the rear window is raised/lowered by its own motor through a slightly convoluted linkage. If something is interfering with this mechanism the bow won’t drop down enough to make a good seal with the hatch cover. Also, there is a rear locking apparatus that deploys up and out of the center of the hatch cover, grabs the fifth bow, and pulls it down to seal the rubber against the surface of the hatch cover.

These functions are described in the factory service manual, which is available free on the net. Google for it.
