Custom White Paint
I was curious if anyone has any pics of a 350Z painted the Lexus Starfire pearl (paint code: 077) or the 370Z pearl white (paint code: QAB)? I saw a couple of threads with questions about custom white paint jobs and somebody posted some pics of the starfire but the links expired. Google search didn't turn up anything either... Just recently purchased an 08 NISMO from a dealer in Florida and I got royally f***ed over. Tranny needs to be rebuilt, clutch is shot, seems to be some suspension issues and the best part is... They plasti dipped the car... Yes, you read correctly, I was told it was a vinyl wrap but that was a complete lie. I did take precautions before I purchased the car sight unseen, I payed for a private third party inspection service through manheim auto auctions, which is a large dealer only service. I had a family friend purchase the car for me through his dealership and then payed for the inspection, which covers all major mechanical components and major cosmetic issues. I really don't know how they messed it up this bad but since the transporter took over 14 days to deliver the car to me the period of arbitration is over, so I'm stuck with the bill to get this fixed. At any rate, I'm paying to have the entire car repainted and I'm trying to decide between the two colors. Any custom white paints or the two specific colors on a 350 would be much appreciated... Thanks!
I can't help you with the pictures, but if you would consider going for a complete wrap rather than a paint job, I'd highly suggest checking these guys out:

I know that they ran a 10% full wraps a couple months back, I'm sure something will come up soon for Thanksgiving (Black Friday) or Christmas!

I found out about them because I saw this teal STI at my job and I thought it looked intense! Not my taste but the quality was unbelievable. About a week later on Instagram I saw the same STI featured on Stancenation. Looked into it and found out it was done by Phenominal Vinyl. Got a quote the other day and will be going by soon to see some of their other work.
Yea, I already considered a wrap... the shop I spoke to told me a wrap would run at least 5K to avoid any seams... For that amount I would rather spend another 500-1,000 and just get the car painted exactly the way I want. Also, there are some fitment issues with a few of the body panels, especially the rocker panels which must have broken clips because they are sticking out completely... I don't think these issues could be fixed by a vinyl shop. I just want it to look clean and put together, with an OEM or better finish.

SQuaLZ if you're talking about this one, I think I saw at a meet back in spring, really really sweet. I've seen some other cars done by them including the Matte Golden GTR, good stuff. Tenacious, I'd suggest speaking to this shop to get you a quote too - no harm done there, and I'm sure they could give you recommendations on reputable paint shops should you wish to get your car painted.

Really? 2,000 and 5,000 is a huge difference... I have requested a quote from them so we'll see what they say. I'm located in central new york so their shop is a bit of a drive but saving 4,000 dollars would make it worthwhile. Thanks for the heads up guys.
Calinismo, thanks for posting those... I'll have to go check out this color in person, the more I see it the more I like it.
If your original paint is in good condition consider a wrap. If it's falling apart its better to paint even though a wrap may be cheaper. On average it's about 2k to wrap the z.
Wraps are intended to protect paint and supposed to be temporary. Over time the adhesive becomes permanent (3+ years) and damages the original paint. All my cars are wrapped but I change the color every year or two to make sure the adhesive is fresh.

IMO if the paint isn't the greatest but is not totally horrible, I think it would be perfect to wrap, since you don't have to worry about ruining a nice paint job.
OP post some pictures of your car.

Here are a few quick pics... You can see some of the paint drips, chips and peeling plasti-dip. I have been too busy to take it off so I have no idea what it looks like underneath. I know that it's a custom maroon on bottom and black metallic on top. Judging from the quality of the paint that is showing on the diffusers, wing, and side mirrors I'm guess what's underneath is not much better.

good luck man!! make sure you take it to a good reputable shop so they can do a nice job and take all the paint off. That way your new paint can last a a couple of years.
