Default how to prep center console "ping pong paddle" surface

Bought some duplicator flat black interior paint plus their addhesion promoter. Painting the interior switch panel for the windows won't be to much of a problem as I can sand them. My question is how do I prep the center console for this without loosing the "ping pong paddle" surface?

When I repainted my center I just washed it with soap and water and proceeded to spray over it. Didn't even bother trying to sand it with the way the texture was. Did this couple years ago and my center is still looking great.

Like the other post says, just wash with soap and water and make sure it's completely dry, then spray light coats and let it build. The texture will remain.

The Duplicolor paint is a slightly warmer tone than the stock color but matches really really well.

Hope that helps,

Like they said above. Spray light, keep your distance with the spray can and give each coat time to set. If you spray light and far enough away the paint droplets will coat the surface evenly and leave the texture.

I sanded the whole thing down with the help of a friend and gave it a piano black spray

I was not happy with the way it came out by just spraying over the existing surface so I did the following:

Clean with soap and water
Acetone
Sanded down
Acetone again
Sprayed around 3 coats of piano black
