Yes my door handles, rear 350z and Nissan emblems, plus front spec. A diffuser are all painted gloss black.

That sounds interesting too; would be nice to be able to see vents in black and the bright seat red on a full smb hood to compare.

If I do the accent colored vents I'd do both sides of 'em; spray entire under hood smb.

My vote is for gloss black accents in the vents. It wouldn't be very noticeable unless you were close but I think they'd work well.

Considering your color, I'd go with black or wouldn't accent at all seeing how MB is already very dark so you wouldn't be able to see it very well.

Thanks, I can picture doing a solid smb would look good with the car. I guess once I talk things over with the shop owner I'll be leaning that way unless he comes up with some black accent option/s.

Let us know what they say. I'm interested to see what ideas they might have.

Will do, I just talked to him to let him know that the hood is coming; he knows what it looks like and we talked about the accent options and solid SMB and even on the phone I can already tell that he's got his customizing mind in gear so we'll see haha!

Got a call this a.m. from the shop and the hood had just arrived! I cruised up there and checked it out, the owner wants to get working on fitment right now so he just dropped me off; fingers crossed for good clearance over blower (looks like more room with this mcr) and a good fit. This guy is way into custom work, so I know that it's in good hands.

We talked some about possible black accent paint, but first and foremost is fitment; hope for some good news later today! *the more I looked it all over and tried to picture it all painted, I'm leaning back to solid SMB, but I'll deal with that later. Black vents would look good also.
Some pics fresh out of the box after a long journey:

Thanks guys! I picked up my car just before closing time; they don't work weekends. He had the stock hood back on; the new one has been completely fitted and now will be processed towards the paint job beginning Mon. (will take a couple of days of work on it) I was very glad to know that the hood had already been on the car.

There was tiny amount of under trimming to clear SC Pulleys, but they will fiberglass over before paint and the under hood will look great. He said that this was the "best out of the box hood fitment" that he'd ever installed; was very impressed with the quality of it, so he's amp'd as am I; a big relief to know that it has already been fitted well, installed on the car, now removed. *also he said that the hood/bumper cover "gap" was ****! Well, that's a fine halloween for me

edit: I had lifted/carried the hood up a couple of times earlier today; had never replaced one before so I had nothing to compare to. It felt light, not sure the real weight difference, but obviously this new one is significantly lighter; all FRP material, just metal inserts for strength of the latch and 2 hinge areas (under the frp material). Some pics that the shop took when it was on the car being fitted:

*I think that I will paint the whole piece white hehe!

Me too! I saw it today and under hood looks awesome; they had to do some real custom work to make the cuts (to clear sc kit) look like it was made that way. The 2 parts that had been cut out were reinstalled upside down and fiberglassed in and worked over to maintain strength and is polished smooth.

The under hood vent louvers had been trimmed for clearance and exact equally for looks have been filled/sealed in so the fibers of the frp material look smooth. Bottom line is I've had them take their time and do a custom job, but it will look great with hood up. Now they will start spraying the primered top side; should all be done possibly tomorrow (Tues.). Will cost much more than I expected, but this will end up being a fine looking hood. *When done I'll try to show some close ups of where the body work was done on it, etc.

Nice to see it sits flushed. Looked like a well made piece. Painful to hear trimmed work is needed but for a good reason.

Yeah I hear you on that, but it's all been done uniform and not much taken off the bottoms (middle section). I don't think that anybody would have any idea that anything even happened in order to fit it well. I'll post up some good under hood pics because it's is going to look nice on it's own as far as engine bay dress up; they will polish the entire under hood. *middle section vent bottoms were trimmed 2-3 times for a total of 3/16".
