Don't worry. It's very hard to screw up. Even if you do screw up, new pillar only costs like 45 bucks.

so the pic of your guage pillar just 'happened' to be taken while it was sitting on a ferrari (i'm sure that was just the nearest available place to put it), and now when people ask you questions about the ferrari you ignore them. kinda weak IMO.

listen up, this is not a chat room. i posted this thread to help people who want to make their own gauge pods since there is none made yet. and who cares if the items were placed on the ferrari. my sanding bench is next to where the car is. if i choose to not answer questions that do not pertain to the thread than so what. and why would I want to show a picture of a customers car when it has nothing to do with the thread. stop your bitching and find the chat room.

for those of you who asked, I think a 3 gauge set up would work. i chose to paint mine the exterior color. i am in the process of painting some of the interior plastics the same color. if you guys like w can make it for you, but like i said it would be cheaper to make yourselfs. email at sung@kbodyshop.com

btw, i wasn't implying your thread wasn't appreciated either. we need more how to threads like this. you posted a pic of a ferrari on a car enthusiast message board like it was a work bench or something. people just wanted to know what the deal was. would have taken you this much effort to answer: "customer's car."

hey why are we giving m3power such a hard time? he's nice enough to post a DIY guide for us on how to make the gauge pillars... i for one don't care where the ferrari came from... with this guy's talent, i wouldn't be surprised if it was his own

this thread really reminds me of the thread about James Chen and how no one believe it when he posted a pic of his yellow Z

with that said...

what kind of paint did you use!!?!?!

i'm just curious because if it's spray paint, i'm quite impressed with the quality... and i'd want to use the same approach to repair my chipped splash guards

I checked and I can't find a generic Autometer pod. Do you happen to have the Autometer Part # that you used?

what color is your splash gaurds because i have some lying around. they are white.

the parts are not painted with a can but with the same exterior paint. wanted to match the exterior. and also used 3 coats of clear coat. the tough part is applying the exact amount of pearl.

keep asking those kind of questions. thanks

um no. no one called him out and said it wasn't his ferrari, even though it isn't his ferrari, it's a customer's, and james chen was/is a humble and rich as hell car enthusiast that wouldn't snub fellow car enthusiasts. carry on.

Great job on the gauge pod. It looks like the car came from the factory with the pod. Thanks for sharing this DIY.

my bad, it is actualy an APC piece i picked up at pep boys. auto meter is too thin and will break while sanding.

and I thought the SRS was located on the seat itself and not on the pillar. could be wrong.

Start at the top and pull hard toward the inside rear view mirror. The clips will start to let go. It will make a bunch of noise but will come out. The sample you saw was made for my car and I will be getting it via UPS today!!! I can hardly wait. Next step is Suite E GrafX will give them the Carbon Fiber treatment to match the other goodies Rich made for my car. I had m3powerrr (sung@kbodyshop.com) build me this to install my AEM wide band air/fuel ratio gauge. This will make it easier to test all these new mods we keep putting on my car. Just wanted to say "THANK YOU" very much to m3powerrr for dropping everything at his shop to get this pod done in a couple days for me. As usual, we are always under some deadline to get the car somewhere or try a new mod, and service like this is very much appreciated!!

Okay, let me clear something up. I started this thread because many people were asking me to make this for them. I run a bodyshop full time and I just can't do this unless I charge enough money to cover my time. zeroday, I wasn't ignoring anyone. I'm running in and out of the office all day long. I have time to read the thread in the morning and after close. My friends come and get on the computer while hanging out. Some of the posts are made by the owner of the Z that I'm working on. This is the first post by me since posting the how to yesterday morning.

Now, to answer the million dollar question. No, Ferrari is not mine. It's a 2003 360 Spyder. We get high end customers from time to time and I see your point in wanting to know more about the car. Let me show you the area where I happened to be working in. Here is a pic.

You see where the McDonald cup is? That's where I was doing the work. The Ferrari happened to be right next to it and it's white. A great contrast to the black pillar. I just turned and positioned the pillar so it didn't slide. I should have done a better job of cropping logo out. So everyone, no hard feelings. I'm always doing stuff to my car and will help anyone who is doing the same.

I currently own a 93 RX7 that everyone believed it was the best looking 7 they've see. Yet I have it down to the shell right now. Modding a car/bike is the greatest hobby in the world for me. Let's not argue about hurting someone's feelings. It wasn't intentional. Peace.

now, if only the gauges pointed a little lower so that they could be eye level.....

Or is it just me? from the pic you posted it looks like the gauges point upwards, but that's APC's fault, not yours
