Default **anybody had their cloth seat covers replaced ??

My drivers side bolster on my cloth seat is showing wear, dealer is going to replace it under warrenty (TSB) - - he said just remember the new cover will be all wrinkled when we put it on??
he says it comes all folded up and when they put it on it looks like a wrinkled pair of pants - - question, has anybody had this done, do the wrinkles eventually smooth out? Should I try and get some of the wrinkles out of the new cover using a steamer or something before the cover is installed??

Thanks,
Steve

i had mine replaced in early january... no biggie at all - at least on my car - slight wrinkles at the edges of the seats, but within a few weeks it will settle in...
just be happy you are getting them replaced - i had to go back and forth with my dealer before they agreed to do it...

you will be ten-times happier with the new seat covers - they are waay better than the originals...
Good luck!

I had mine done, and they had a little wrinkling, but the material was more coarse and not as soft as the original. I had them replaced with leather shortly after.

Just one, and I wish I didn't. Not only did I not like the new fabric, but the upholsterer backed my car into a truck. (thats why I got the leather, he fixed my car plus did the seats for free to apologize)

Is the "new" fabric the same that's being used on 2004 Z's now?

I'll have to check it out - - sorry to hear about your damage 2003z, that stinks, at least you got taken care of - - - seems we try and get things taken care of on our Z's and something else gets screwed up ??

Took my car to the dealer today, and they said it's normal "wear and tear" so it's not under warranty.. What can I do to get my seat cover replaced?

Mine are wear on both driver and passenger side bolster..

Thanks!

Normal wear and tear my ****. I had 5000 miles (bought Dec 03)on mine and brought mine in last week. No questions asked...material was ordered and the new cover was put on. No wrinkles, rougher material definitely, but it looks identical. Driver's side didn't have any wear so they didn't have to do it. The TSB does say both if the wear is apparent. There is even a picture of what the fraying looks like in the TSB. Bring the copy with you for proof!

They even gave me an F150 for the days for a free renter.

Called NNA and they are in the process to contact my service advisor. Hope eveything work out..

**Update** NNA left a msg with my service advisor, but he didn't call back. NNA will try again tomorrow morning..

I just looked at the picture on the TSB, and it's exactly the same thing! Hopefully NNA will okay the replacement..

Just had mine replaced, I agree the material is much more coarse which is good IMO. A few wrinkles on the edges toward the rear under the side airbag area......not bad though.

CTZ - print out the TSB and show them, I'm sure that will help.

Technical Service Bulletin. Dealers usually it for reference to repair certain problems.. It is not mandatory for them to do it, but most of the time they have no problem doing it.
