Default paint it

I'd paint the front bumper but leave the lip, like John350z. The last quote I heard for the whole kit was 1600. How's the quality of VIS?

What's next carbon hood and eyelids. Too sweet if so.

the kit is definately good quality...i have seen the car pictured above in person

the hood plus the full front in carbon is a bit much even for my tastes...instead of just traditionally just leaving the front lip CF why dont you do some kind of design

kinda like a triangle starting from the hood connecting with the bumper...i think veilside did that on their car..looked good

Personally, I think it depends on the color of the car.

Im going to order the hood now because it just needs it with the CF Bumper...

For now its all going to stay unpainted...

Well, graphix will be over it all... Carbon fiber looks best on the Silver Stone color so we will see how it looks... The main colors of my car are SS and Black remember...

I wish I rememberd the cost of the kit... I think it was 1600 like stated above but that was not including the rear wing or hood! only the front bumper, side sills, and rear under spoilers... once I know I will post them... I need to get another copy of the invoice... (the driver left it with VIS :-/ ) When I ordred the kit I didnt know it was coming from VIS

Thanks for the compliments on my setup. I'm really happy with the results.

The VIS Racing kit is one layer of real carbon fiber with a fiberglass backing (another two layers.)

leave it as is, until i chip the heck out of it! haha

Y'know... I'm not a big fan of the carbon fiber look, but can accept it to some degree. Still... no matter how I picture it, having the front end completely carbon fiber is going to look goofy considering the way the hood and fender meet up to it.

Guess everyone can comment when you get it on, but I'd paint (at least a portion of it) so the color lines flow together.

Hmm... Only front bumper and side skirts, rear underskirts are CF.. I don't think it'll flow well with all other parts of the car...
BUT, now if you get those Dry CF door, fender, hatch, and stuff from Amuse and get whole car covered up with CF, then that's a different story
Any Ballers wanna try that?

I hate to give away an idea that i would like to try on my Z when i get it later this year, but as far as the wing goes, i wasthinking leave the base CF and paint the rest. That with leaving just the front lip CF would look sweet. IMO. my.02

Perhaps this is a stupid question, but what about the possibility of getting a nismo kit with only the bottom portions in CF? For a LeMans, total CF is too much for me -- I'd want to paint the top portions. But if there was a kit where I could clear just the CF on the bottom and paint the top, I've got cash...

You should be able to paint over the clear right? But then you are paying for CF front bumper to only show the bottom piece.

Yeah... that's what several people have done so far. I'm just being cheap. Why pay for all that CF if you're not going to see it, and it's not 100% CF to start with?

It'd be a different story if the kit was all CF, cuz then you've got the weight reduction to talk about. But at only a single surface coat, I would think it's merely cosmetic. Hence, if it's cosmetic, only pay for the CF that would show through.

I find it stange that both dealership cars have Nismo stickers posted all over them and their running replica Nismo stuff.

Man its kinda sad that a dealership would make knockoff kits, buy or sell them for that matter.

Whats next fake Nismo harnesses off ebay or maybe some Nismo replica seats?

Its great more fake stuff thats ulitimately hurts the sales of your own bread and butter Nismo.

What are you going to tell your customers when the authentic Nismo kit hits the shores?

Are you going to tell them is somehow better then the replicas you run?

I can see why alot japanese manufactures dont come over here to the states or support the market all together.

There are too many have lazy people who cant come up with their own designs to deal with. There also the quick buck to be made.

There are always cheap people that like to front on a well known product (AKA fake Rolex watches or fake luis Vitton hand bags).

I wouldnt think a dealership would support this.

Thanks for flooding the market with crap. Kudos guys kudos.
