Default Roll cage specs 03-08

My question is are the inside specs different between the years 03 to 08. I want to buy a cage and it's for a 2007 but the cage I'm looking at goes in a 2003. Would it fit in my 2007

Welcome- that's an interesting question for a first post. Before answering, let's be sure of what you mean by "roll cage". Do you mean a full six-to-eight point rollcage, with bars extending forward to the floorboards? Or do you mean a four-point rollover hoop behind the driver/passenger? Also, is this a custom cage, or a prebuilt bolt-in cage from Kirk or Autopower?

Well I plan on using my car to enter drift competitions that's why I'm putting a cage in. I'm looking at a 10 point cage right now. The website that I found the cage is the only one that will have it pre made to go around your dash and you weld it in. But on the website it says for 03. I messaged them and they said they didn't know if it would fit a 07 or not they had got their specs from a 03. I have found other pre made 10 point cages but they don't go around the dash and cost more. But they are all listed as fitting a 03 to 08. I would like the other one since it goes around the dash and is cheaper. But I don't know if they changed the inside specs from a 03 to 08. I have googled it trying to find the specs but have had no luck so far. I'm guessing since I've found 5 other websites that sell pre made cages to fit 03 to 08 that this one would fit but I would like to make sure. This is the website I found the cage on. SWRACECARS.COM

You are going for a 10 point that goes around the dash?? How would it have a front cross bar, not to mention the extra bends it would require to make it around the dash. You may want to check your sanctioning body rules to see if that would even be legal for what you are doing.

Also, just my thought, but you spending money on tons of other things on these cars... Why choose by price when it comes to your safety?

OK- I took a look at the SW racecar 10-point cage and cannot recommend it. While it might fit the interior of your '07 Z, there'll be a lot of work to make it fit. The mounting plates are small and could punch through the floorboards, leaving you with NO protection. Even worse are the side bars, as there's only a single one and it will be right up against your ribcage. Hit a wall, or even a glancing blow off a barrier and you'll know REAL pain when those ribs snap like matchsticks!

These are cages built to a template and it may or may not fit your '07 well. The cost is cheap, but it'll be a couple hundred more to truck it into you. Unless you are a great welder, there's several hundred more to have that worked on. Consider looking around locally and find the oval track racing shop that does cages all the time. Have them build you a custom cage, with two door bars on each side angled into the doors themselves to prevent any harm to you. It's money well spent in a sport that doesn't forgive mistakes easily.

Remember, the time to spend the money on safety is up front- not in those precious seconds before an impact. You know you're screwed when you cheap out on your own safety.

I would start researching a bit more. First the bendy bar design around the dash is not legal anywhere. Second an FD rated cage is an 8 point and a normal Roadracers cage is 6 point.
