Default 350z cabin noise, road noise and leakage.

Im not sure if this is common but my i have an 03 Track model and the noise is pretty bad. Also i took it for a wash and both windows were leaking and it never had happened before.
Anybody got any tips on how i can reduce the noise and how to stop the leak ?

you can dynomat the rear, doors, and floor if you want to pull everything out.

for the leaking window, is it coming from the top? if so you may need to replace the weather seal

you have to pull everything up, rub down with alcohol, lay it on... heat it up some, then use roller to get it flat and on all the curves

only if you let it.... the sound deadening is easy, harbor freight heat gun, gloves (several pair), a roller, a buddy, and beer you can get it knocked out

I consider disassembly and reassembly as the most difficult part of a sound deadening project.

I really think that most of the noise comes in from the wheel wells. Station wagons (with their rear tires inside the car) are noisy, and the Z coupe is a miniature station wagon. Notice that the Infinity G-series coupe has much less noise than the Nissan z-series cars. That is because the Infinity G-series has a trunk and its rear wheels outside the car.

The next big “noise source” after the wheel wells is the porous floor (lots of holes) in the rear compartment and the compartment-filled divider behind the seats.

Im probably gonna try to spray the wheel wells instead of trying to glue the mat. Dont think its going to last with the mat...

Nothing like adding weight on to the track edition, if your worried about road noise you should have gotten a different car.

If you dont want opinions and off topic non constructive criticism why dont you use the search function and stop making useless threads that have been covered over and over again...

I just figured by your dumb questions that talking you out of adding sound deadening mat would be the most helpful.

Let's both chill out here.

Go to the car audio section, you will find a lot more info on matting there.

We have not had a detailed discussion about sound deadening for some time now. I think we can revisit this issue. Truthfully I’ve tried doing some sound deadening and have not been fully pleased with the results. That is why I am interested in someone else taking a new shot at this.

I hope that terrj undertakes a new sound deadening project. And if he chooses doing that, I hope he provides information and pictures of his progress and project.
