Playing around in Forza, trying to figure what I want to do with paint. Tried a lot of schemes, but narrowed it down to these 3. The first two will be easy to do, the 3rd will probably be more difficult for my paint guy. It's not just a black hood, but top of the fenders as well, so masking will have to be done on the top corner of the fender.
If you ever want to sell that car, pick the first scheme and do it with vinyl. It's a matter of taste, but not worth destroying the resale value, which you'll do if you paint it either of those other two schemes.

Good thought, but IF I go to sell the car and people don't like the color scheme, I'll pay $500 to paint it back the factory yellow.
All of these designs would be VERY easy to do with vinyl
Mirrors, door handles, emblems, and spoilers are already black. Looking to color match some or all of the top of the car. My body guy only charges about $150 a panel to paint. I would have to drive over 100 miles to get to a place that would wrap.
Below is the car as it sits right now. As you can see, the hood and hatch are pretty faded. I had the bumpers repainted yellow already due to tapping a deer with the front, and the clear coat getting messed up when I removed the badges another owner put on. I was already thinking of having the rest of the car painted now so I don't have multiple shades of yellow on my car. I'm thinking it's not really worth the hassle to me to deal with wrapping part of the car.
Fair enough. And not sure what black you painted those parts, but for what its worth, Avery gloss black vinyl is EXTREMELY close to the OEM 350z black.
and as a E33 owner- i am in the vinyl camp.
(i really wanted to go the black/yellow scheme-but the more i researched- i realized it was outside of my wallets capacity)
*iINHO- unless "everything" under the hood/one the wheels/etc.. matches the fast n furious style- #1 is best. thats my 2 cents.......
Yep do the vinyl yourself. The locations you'll be putting it will be super easy. I wrapped my whole car without knowing what I was doing and the hood, roof, and hatch were the easiest by far
Only cop cars should be 2-tone, but to each his own. As I mentioned in my first reply, resale value gets flushed down the toilet, as no one wants to buy a car and have to respiratory it. Vinyl wrap, if you must.
Just noticed on 1 that the roof and spoiler are black , my bad. Fix 1 so your car is 1 color, then get new wheels that don't match the tires
Of course it's personal preference, but I really prefer two color cars unless it's black, and then everything MUST be black. Here's my old Legacy GT. Yes the pics are horrible, but you get the idea.
