The headlights are pretty good, but I must agree with the others on the tails. They are one of the most distinguishable features of the car, and that was just removed.

Get rid of the overlays. The taillights make your car look like an Audi TT.

^^ this is coming from the master of the overlay!

I think you should take his advice. Your car is hot except for that crap.

and a little off topic
bat- I was workin on my car today and I thought of a little something- you know how you put the CF-looking vinyl behind the license plate on your celica? I think that would look good, and also a CF-vinyl Strut Bar overlay- just some thoughts

Mine is like 2.5-3" long....

There's only one station that doesn't come in well (and yeah it's my favorite)..all the rest come in crystal clear.

can one of u guys take a straight on shot(from the front) with a decent height. i just want to see how good it would looks with the headlight covers... cuz it's just looks like a "*****'s" car when looking it from the sides. u know what would be cool though? the taillight covers for the Z in NFS Underground... that thing looks a whole lot better. i just wished that it was real...

tnx!

But I'm more than certain this"*****" car would love to show you those fugly taillights (albeit, if you can still see'em after just a few seconds).... LOL

Not to ruffle any feathers or anything but, I am not a "Z" purist by any means (I did own a 300ZX Twin Turbo back in '91). I could care a less about what people think is right or wrong with my car <laughs> I was just looking for constructive critism. Instead, I get the "Your car looks like a ***** car". God forbid someone wants everyones opinion on their 3ft tall wing and gaudy body kit (hey that rhymed!)

I actually think the rear end of this car looks like sh*t from the factory... especially when you add those tacky after thought looking splash guards... The rest of the car looks pretty good (especially with the 18" wheel/tire combo)

I definately didn't buy the 350Z for the way the car looks. But anyways, thanks for the honesty guys... hehe

All that matters is that you like it.

What it boils down to is that it is your car, and if you like the way it looks then by all means keep it. I wouldn't call it a "*****" car (where the hell did that comment come from???); the only objection I have are the overlays. God knows I've seen more than a few Zs on this sight that make yours look like a work of art... nothing more eye-scarringly bad than 2-tone LS/CF cars....

ZXiMan...

I totally feel you on the back of the car being fugly out of the box. That was my exact sentiments when the car first debuted. I think it was one of the "evolutionary" portions of the car that wasn't inspired by the original Z design.

Very early on....I too was thinking of an alternative to covering the triangle lights almost exactly what you're attempting to do.

I've grown fond of the back lights and can't think of any of my own conceived alternatives that would suit what I was trying to get at. Even if I DO find an alternative it will strip too much from the 350's character, one that most people (even non-Z owners) have grown accustomed to.

So I see where you're coming from but I can also see why people are so quick to judge. It's making the car different at the expense of it's own identity.

I still think the Z's back is unattractive without SOME sort of spoiler or lip. That's just my opinion.

Overall though...your Z is one bad@ss car and will probably knock the socks off of most Z's on this board. I can imagine how much presence it has in the flesh. Those pictures do it no justice.

Thanks man. Those pictures do suck...

Good thing about vinyl is.... I can remove it in about 10 minutes if I change my mind...

And I change my mind alot.... or sometimes I'm just looking for a new look. My car will probably look completely different in 6 months...who knows!

I actually think it BEST without anyspoiler or lip, of course that is just me, I don't like the old M3 with a wing, I hate porsche's with wings, I don't like wings on 360 modena's, etc.....but there are some cars that I like them on I guess, the new M3 has a very small/classy lip and the old Z32 TT looks much better than a non-turbo because of the rear spoiler (maybe because with these cars the rear spoiler actually means you have the REAL car (ie-real M3 vs a 3 series or a TT vs a NA Z) I don't know? I don't mind the Z's lip, but prefer it without it, I HATE the spoiler on the G35coupe though.
