Default Stupid question. Are these swirl marks?

i just recently bought my 350z and I was looking at the hood tonight and seen these lines that I thought were swirl marks I did go to the car wash this morning but I want to believe I did not do this lol. It's only on the passenger half of the hood and I used the pull to me down method with a microfiber towel when I was drying it off earlier. So if I had done it I would think it would be on the drivers side too. Thanks for the input!

Those look like scratches, not swirl marks, to me. You may or may not have created these, but depending on how the previous owner(s) detailed the car, they may have been there previously.

thank you for your reply, it seems that would make sense. If i had done it surely it would have been the same on the other side of the hood as well. I can sleep well tonight lol.

Technically "swirl marks" are from circular motion like car wash brushes or a rotary/dual action polisher. DK is correct, and most any detailer can polish those out easily.

May I suggest you wash and dry your drying media, and only use clean towels once. Or do like me, use a leaf blower...

Did you use the "foaming brush" at the car wash? Probably the worst piece of equipment you could use. I only use it to clean the brake dust off my wheels

I'm going out on a limb here. You did not put a coin in pic for scale, but the scratches are linear/straight.
My crystal ball says a cat has been perching on your car!
(Ask me how I know...mine is Mag Black, and my wife has 2 cats).

glw repair!
