Cubby Door Latch Broken

The latch mechanism on my cubby door is apparently internally broken. Any ideas on how to release the latch and open the door, short of drilling?

It it is the HR waterfall (I believe 06 had the same one) then you have to remove the entire waterfall to gain access to it. It's actually pretty easier to remove, takes about 10 minutes.
