Bumper Air Extractor Vent Flaps Rattle - How To Quiet Down Without Sealing
The bumper air extractor vent flaps rattle when listening to music. Any way to quiet these things down without sealing them? I've seen some people fiberglass over them, there has to be some way to quiet these things down without eliminating their function of equalizing cabin pressure.
One day I couldn't take it so I narrowed it down by frequency. I notice it most playing a 50 hz test tone. You can hear them go nuts, it sounds like rubber mats flapping together. Sounds just awful. It sounds almost like the sub is blown but for sure it's not since it sounds fine with the trunk lid open. I've heard this issue happens with aftermarket exhausts too, the resonation causes these flaps to rattle and it drives people nuts cause they think it's a trunk panel. That's why when people say they can hear it outside too. I only hear it with the trunk close cause that's when the pressure builds.
