Default Advice on painting intake manifold

Anyone here paint their intake manifold? What kind of paint did you use? Engine or BBQ high heat paint?

My manifold looks like ***, thinking painting it would look better.

Some folks have painted their manifolds but here's an idea-

You've got to remove and de-grease it before painting, right? Instead of brake cleaner why not try diluted Muriatic acid and a steel or brass brush (goggles and gloves). That should get it close to like-new condition. Then after it's nice and shiny you can decide whether to paint...
edit-
Do not use at full - strength, this stuff dissolves concrete.

I've used it before - to clean the garage floor in my new house prior to laying the epoxy floor. Stuff scares the **** out of me. It will eat through damn near any and everything.

I'm going to clean it in the car (no acid brother - I'd rather staple my ******* to a chair than **** with that again) and see what it looks like after that.

Powdercoat or ceramic coat it for a more durable finish.

I just did mine purple about a week...prep everything tape where the hoses go whether you're just doing the top or both top and bottom. I sanded it with 400-600 grit and used brake cleaner and 70% alcohol. As far as actual paint, get high temp I went with dupli-color and it worked perfectly. I did 8 light coats cause I had all the time in the world, along with 3 heavy coats. It came out just the way I wanted, and I'm extremely happy with it. I definitely would recommend you to take some time and do it!
