Default VIS racing / carbon creations nismo kit

i know that jason over at performance nissan has thsi bumper; i am tired of waiting for the nismo usa release of the kit, and also i also am looking to replace the whole front bumper; i was wondering if anyone knows how teh fitment on the kit is? i livein socal and VIS is not too far from my house; plus, is that bumper (and wing too) pure carbon fiber, or cf overlay? is it hard to paint carbon fiber? any extra prep work required? i am not a big fan of the 2-color scheme, so i would get the bumper colormatched...thanks a lot

also, if anyone knows anything about the carbon creations kit as well, that would help too; thanks!

Strange but, we are benefitting from ricer style companies. They create cheap replicas from fiberglass. Now they create replicas made of CF in the states which is better than FRP use in Japan and sometimes cheaper. wow.....

wow. i thought i'm the only one who is wondering about CF bumper paintg work. if anyone painted them, please share information with us.

i need to get full bumper not only lip from nismo usa.
do you think its possible to have group buy on front bumper?
(we can get side skirts, spoiler, rear under spoiler from nismo usa later but we will never see full bumper from them..)
mike, vq racer, do you have any suggestion?
or can you hook us up with vis?
for the front bumper?
and get some answers about the painting over c/f form them too?

mike, you could be our hero of this thread!
help us.

It's CF overlay. I think a bumper or wing of that size in real CF would be in at $1k or more. If I'm wrong please let me know.

My TRACK is in the shop right now getting
the NISMO replica fiber glass kit installed from Performance.
It will be ready sometime next week.

I got tired of waiting too for the US NISMO
release. I didn’t want to pay close to 3000 for
the genuine kit imported from Japan. throw on
painting and install and you’re looking to dump
close to $5,000 on the kit. You will save
thousands on the replica. I was having my Z repaired
for minor body damage so for me I was able to save
both on parts and painting. It made sense to do the
kit now.

The Replica is is made of fiberglass
just like genuine kit from Japan.

The US version will be same material as
the OEM bumper, it is also not going to look
the same as the Japanese version. No full Bumper
just a lip. Different rear under spoiler. I like
the look of the Japanese version better.
That’s what I've heard.

The replica is created with a mold made from the
Japanese NISMO kit. The Fiberglass kit is from the
same company that makes the CF kit. I was told it
was a very good quality kit with very good fitment.
I feel confident the kit will look great and be comparable
to the genuine in quality and look. I am getting the
kit through a Vendor that knows the Z. These are the
parts these guys run on their cars.

The CF kit from Carbon Creations is an overlay and comes
clear coated. The CF is for looks and does not save weight and
it won’t make your bumper indestructible. If you get
your bumper smacked the CF will crack just like the Fiberglass.
This is the nature of fiberglass. so if your gonna paint the CF
you might as well get the fiberglass. I've seen the bumper in
person and it is very nice.

To me if you work with the right People and Shops your more than
Likely be satisfied. Even though these are replica kits some are excellent Quality as good as the genuine.

To me I got the "NISMO" kit for 1/2 the price.hehe

When my Z gets back looking meaner than ever I'll let you boys
know how it came out

Default interesting.

so if it is pointless and a waste of money for me to get a cf overlay bumper, teh carbon creation ones is prolly not right for me; how about the VIS racing nismo frp front bumper? does anyone here have it yet? if so how was the quality/ease of paint/fitment/install? would u recommend it to your fellow z owners? thanks
