Default License plate lights not working / need power source?

Hello all, my license plate lights stopped working after my 04 was wrapped. I checked bulbs & fuses to no avail. My question is can I tap into another power source like the taillights? ie connect license plates wiring to taillight wiring. If so, where is the wiring located for license plate lights and tail lights? Colors of the wires etc? Thanks!!

I would check to make sure the license plate lighting assemblies are connected with the factory wiring harness. My guess is that the wrap shop removed the housings to wrap it, re-installed the lights, but forgot to connect the wires on the back. You can easily remove those lights above the license plate. I would check those first to confirm they're connected. If so, verify you're getting battery voltage from the connector using a multimeter or test light. There should be two wires - red is 12v+ post and black is neg/ground. If you're not getting voltage from the pin corresponding with the red wire, there is probably a break somewhere. You'll need to remove the rear bumper and trace the wiring to the tail lamp connector. Incidentally, the power source for the rear side marker, brake lights, and license plate lamps all use the same 12v+ wire. It is red and blue. So, if your rear side markers and rear brake lights (not the brighter lights when you depress the brake - just indicating your lights are on) all work, then check the wiring leading to the license plate lights. If none of your rear lights work, confirm you're getting 12v+ from the red/blue wire. If there is no voltage, then check the fuses (again).
