Floor Liner Anyone?
I've been looking for a floor liner for some time now and I can't seem to find any. I've had Weathertechs in my Prius for over 10 years and they are still as good as new. I'm very happy with the quality, fit & finish, and my floor mats and carpet underneath look like new, but unfortunately they don't make one for the Z, which surprises me. They do for the 370, but not 350. I called them and spoke with their rep to see if they would be open to developing one for our cars, and they said yes, IF there is enough interest. They want to see an initial interest from 50 or more people and eventually be able to sell 1,000+ for the life of the product.
So, I'm wondering if anyone else would \be interested in this (and maybe we can do a group buy and get better pricing???).
The rep asked me to go to their website and submit a request. Apparently, they keep track of this stuff:
https://www.weathertech.com/
Help > Products > New Product Updates > Year/Make/Model (I picked Altima for the heck of it b/c they don't have the 350Z listed)

Weathertech is good quality. I've had them in several vehicles and their durability is great.
In the event that you don't garner enough interest in mats for the Z33, the GTR crowd seems to like these from diamondcarmats. When I picked mine up earlier this year, it didn't have mats, so I was looking for other options, but ended up going with OEM in the end.
Personally, I think the diamond is a little loud, but they also carry other patterns like stripes and honeycomb. If you get the same stitching as the material, then it won't stand out too much. Reviews appear to seem pretty positive. Some type of thick, faux leather material that's pretty weatherproof and durable. I think one guy said it's similar to the same material on his golf bag. There are reports of a pretty strong smell initially which seems to go away.

Appreciate your suggestion and input. I've seen those on other cars at Cars'n'Cofee and what not, and I've had similar, less flashy mats in the past. Problem is that in every case, at least in my experience, if the mats are made of fabric or a soft, pliable material, it ends up sliding around and bunching up behind or in between the pedals and it tries to ruin your day. Weathertechs in my Prius are form-fitted to the shape of the floor and are made of hard ABS plastic or rubber, so they fit perfectly and there is no sliding around. Also, the Z has that hook under the seat and a corresponding hole in the OEM mat that keeps it from sliding forward (which is a great idea BTW), but most after-market mats have no such thing.
The other things is this: I get the impression that these Diamond Car Mats seem to be one-size-fits-all because for the Z, for example, it gives you the option to order for 2, 4, 6 or 8 seats. Hummm...
