Default How F&$KED is my lip ???

I'm a fricken idiot, and while answering my celly when parking @ school today, i decided to forget about the bumper thing. I was going very very slow and i hit the parking block thingy, and stopped immediately and backed up. Expecting a scratch, i went around to the front of the car cussing myself out, and saw a FREAKIN CRACK all the way across the lip. I"m assuming it's ruined, but can anybody tell me if there's any possible way of saving my greddy lip, or am i going to have to money? Thanks. I don't have pix of the exact crack cuz i don't have my digi cam here, but i made one in paint that is exactly what is wrong with the pinche car. PS-- the lip is literally in 2 pieces, and is urethane, and did crack Literally the worst day of my 2004.

personally i think a body shop can just fix it , shouldnt cost to much... go to a local body shop and i'm pretty positive they'll give u a cheaper estimate then a new lip...worth a shot

it can be fixed, not as easy as FG would be, but it can be fixed, and should be cheaper than replacing.

Yup, I let my sister's boyfried drive my car... YEAH BIG MISTAKE!! Don't ever let anyone use your car. He broke my lip the same way. Its ok he paid for it and gave me more money too... I took it to my body shop and the material that the thing is made of is not repairable... They said it would crack again, better to buy a new one not worth fixing it...

I think some body shops are behind the times with regard to repairing urethane. It can be fixed. They have been fixing urethane engine cowls on snow mobiles for a while now. Here is a link to a repair page on a pretty good Urethane website. Start on this page and then check out some of the other info. It may help you to find a less expensive way to take care of that crack.

Good Luck!!

might as well buy another one because the lips are relatively cheap...if they were to fix it the amount of hours they will quote you to fix it might exceed the amount of $ it costs to buy a new lip..and since all else is equal (meaning you will have to reprep and paint new and fixed lip) you should base your answer on how much they charge to FIX the lip....basically..if they tell you that they will need 4 hours to fix it just buy a new lip

I just checked the price on the Greddy lip and it is $240 or less (plus shipping). This equates to around 3 hours of labor at a mid priced body shop. I think it would be cheaper at this point to just replace it.

Hahahahahaha Neither did I!!! Thus the reason I went with a Urethane lip instead of the FRP Nismo Bumper! Oh well, it just gives me less incentive to do more body mods and now it's time to go straight to the suspension.

As for getting a new one, a vendor over @ 350zmotoring sells them for $155 and i get them painted for about $50, so it's not bad... then again, I'm in college and money just isn't here right now, so it is! Thanks for teh link Wedge-- I'll try to find somebody who can do that, but until then, I may just cruise the Z350 without the implants
