I have a miata, and I'm about to buy a Z roadster. I know with the miata, one of the first things everyone recommends is a roll bar. There are several companies that make several different styles of rollbars, so there's a lot of variety. In addition to looking sharp, they also stiffen the chassis, and they'll save your life if you need it.

So . . . are there roll bars for the Z? Anyone got pictures of their cars with a rollbar installed? What is the rollover protection in a stock roadster? I know the coupe has a 5 star rollover rating, but I've never seen anything relating to the convertible.

LOL... sorry! i missed the 'roadster'. i just read it straight "I have a miata, and I'm about to buy a Z".

 

Kirk Racing has had a roll bar available for the Coupe for some time now, but I don't think anybody has one for the Roadster yet. I doubt the market is going to be strong enough for somebody to mass produce a roll bar, so your best bet would be to find a cage builder to build one.

 

I'm planning on putting a bar in my coupe. $300 mod + install.
