Some people are wanting carbon fiber interior pieces.
But, I think LEATHER interior pieces would sell much better and would appeal to a larger populace here. Getting rid of the cheap plastic look would be really nice.
Anyone have the means to produce leather interior kits for our cars?
I am thinking at minimum:
door skins
dashboard
center dash bezel
A-pillars
And More extensively:
trunk interior trim
rear speaker cover trim
center console (between seats)
headliner
sun visors.
I dont konw crap about leather work, but I know this can be done.
Let me know what you think.

I just upholsterered half my door wiht a Carbon type material (pics are on there way).
The cost was $575 but thats because the CF material was pretty expensive.
My doors were upholsterered at http://www.stitchcraftinteriors.com

I've been looking into getting the centre console (on tranny tunnel) trimmed in either leather or suede type stuff.
Spoke with a trimmer who had a look at the car. Basically said I need to budget for a replacement console because it might not work. That is, its a tough trim job. Its because of the area around the cubby release button, coin tray lid (not as much of a problem) and heated seat switches if you have them.
Anyhow, I'm just checking costs on that part before giving it a go.
Materials wise, in the UK, I can pick up a quality letaher hide from about £80. That'll do a lot more than just the console, but unless you can get some offcuts, or go to a trimmer as part of other jobs in the same colour leather... My plan would be to do the door pockets as well (not the whole door skin - I think the stock finish is OK and distinctive). If I have spare I'll go back from the centre console, but that's probably a bigger job than I want to take on.
Suede type materials are Alcantara (this is what is used a lot in cars (e.g. Audis) and in expensive boats. Its made for the job and the type you need is called Pannel which is unbacked, thin, flexible and a little stretchy. Its mighty expensive at about £50 per metre. i.e. more than leather.
I have found another similar material which my local trimmer uses a lot - seems just as nice - called Dinamica. I suspect its a bit cheaper but don't have prices yet.
Not sure what these prices will be over there, but try multiplying by 1.8 to get a worst case in dollars. It'll probably be a bit less since we tend to get ripped off in the UK
Will post more if I get a price on a centre console and decide to go ahead.
