modified shift light...
Looks cool! I was thinking you'd modify the original light. If you have pictures of the cluster assembly, that would be awesome!
I need this so I can figure out some mods to it.
Thanks!

great for turbos!!!
mdracer76: i chosed blue cause its bright and catchy. red is too similar to the other lights in the pod. but any color LED will do.
rest of the peeps: no pics yet....
Instead of doing two blue led's you should have wrote something across the panel like "SHIFT GAWT DAYAM IT!"
I'm just kiddin...very very nice install...and like ares said, "Los Juevos grandes.." Definitely gives the z a more sports car purpose to it. I can't wait to see what else is brewing in your noggin in the near future.

damn!!! looks good Big-Al.
I sure can use that at the track to prevent me from hitting the rev limiter all the time
As thinking about putting in an external one that's higher up and brighter, but this might just be the best fit!!
is it possible to tap the wire without taking apart the dash?
pm me the details!! hope to see these in action at the next meet!!

no need for external units, this ultra-bright(20ma)LED is aimed directly to the eyes!!! cant miss it when lit. only the cluster has to come apart for this mod
Did you take any pics during install? I'd love to see a step-by-step on this one, with necessary parts, etc. I agree that the factory shift light is tough to pick up on the track. Something a bit higher in the line of sight would definitely help a lot. This is a much more elegant solution than a big-*** shift light...that looks fine in a race car, but a bit silly on a street car IMO. Thanks.
