As for the light output, it's pretty much the same. The only problem I had was aligning the beam of the light on my HID so that it would line up and centered. That would have been a problem even if I hadn't blackened it. That's about it.
Lastly, thanks for the compliments. I really appreciate it.

wonder if we got true projector style HIDs somehow it wouldnt need to reflect. donno how youd do that.
seen a few new (concept) cars use LEDs for headlights
makes me wonder, if i ever have an extra 500-1000$ I might try it hah.
car looks good! you should get a CF hood but make sure the weave's gonna match... i know someone who's hood doesn't match the bumper's weave and it looks outta place when your withing a few feet from the car, even though most people won't notice, real enthusiasts will
Yeah originally I had planned on blackening out more of the headlights. I was thinking of blackening out the bottom part of the headlight housing and leaving the sides. It proved to be too much work for so much risk. You can actually take out all of the chrome part from the headlights. They're held on by screws. But to paint the bottom part and leaving the sides untouched means you would have to cover the sides with something so you can spray paint it, but the way the chrome part is structured there's too much unevenness that you're bound to mess up and end up spray painting the sides. Also, the light output concerns me too. With the whole housing black, you might barely be able to have any light output.
Maybe someone will have more ***** and do it! I'd love to see it

yeah Id think the black would absorb alot of light, and heat might even be an issue for it then.
Ill definitly black out the turn signal portion, but I got LEDs in there so no reflection. be cool to do the same to the headlights.
