Recommendations... go wider and lower. You have an agressive kit and an aggressive color -- so it would make sense to 'complete' the look.

Get some spacers for the rear wheels to bring them out a bit and then drop the car about an inch (eibachs?).

The rear wing lengthened the car quite a bit, so if it's lower, it'll look very streamlined and sleek.

How was the fit?
Any special problems?
Actually the guy at the body shop said that the Ings West kit was no problem at all.

He had told me how some body kits look great in pictures and are supposedly "made for the car" but have all sorts of fitment problems or need special prepping just to get it to look nice.

Thanks... I was thinking wheels and suspension next! I wanted to get the body kit on first so I would have an idea of what direction I should go with wheels/suspension to clean up the look.
I like your suggestions!

Thanks... I knew some wouldn't like the look I ended up with, but I think that one of the best things about modding our cars is infusing a little of our individual "self" into our cars--- what works for one person might not work for the next.

If anything, maybe someone who's in the market for a body kit for their car will look at my pictures and be able to make a better individual decision on what he's going to do based on whether or not he liked what he saw on my pictures.

Do you just use a regular body shop or are there special shops that deal with body kits? I'm thinking of getting one for the g35 but I'm not sure if I should bring it to my regular guy who does great body work.

There are body shops that specialize in installs of aftermarket body kits, hoods, etc. Usually you can tell because they'll have pictures of some of the vehicles they've customized.

If you have a regular guy who does your body/paint work, talk to him about what you have planned. Gauge his comfort level of doing the work and ask him for honest feedback about whether he feels comfortable taking on that type of project.

Alot will have to do with the magnitude of your project. Are you doing just a simple bolt-on body kit? Or are you going more radical with a kit that replaces bumpers, etc.?

If you have a good relationship with your body guy, he'll tell you if it's beyond him. These guys know that enthusiasts like us want our cars to look perfect. When I had my kit done, I had to wait an extra couple of days to pick it up because my body guy said that he wasn't happy with how the paint looked on the wing--- he ended up doing some additional sanding to the wing and repainting it a second time.
