Default Question 4 anyone with AEM wideband

Just got my vortech kit delivered today, along with my wideband A/F meter.
This may sound like a stupid question, but does the wiring harness come apart? I'm mounting my gauge in the navigation cubby hole, but cant work out how I'm going to thread the cable with the harness for the sensor through the dash and bulkhead with the plug attached.
What did you guys do? did you cut the cable then re-wire after pulling through????

Are you planning to keep the A/R meter always on the car? Because I think or so I have heard that the sensor is only good or gives accurate readings for about 5 months of usage, then you have to change the plug

Yes i am hoping to keep it on the car.
I know other people have used this kit, but am just wondering about how they went about installing the cable.

remove the all the carpeting and crap under the drivers side footwell. in certain areas of the floor board there is black sound deadening material. to the left side there is a circular area that is covered by this blackish material. this circular area is actually a hole (its patched/covered by the sound deadening material) that goes clean through to the underside of the car and the sound deadening material can easily be drilled through. if you cant find it, have trouble, etc. i can post some pics.
