I've done it again... LUXEON madness!
#22
Hey Ares, the 5mm lights I ordered from China came with resistors. I tested them, and they worked great. They're the 1/4 watt kind, which is sufficient for 20mA operation.
I've fit a total of just 2 resistors in my signal bulbs.
As for backup lights... it's 3 each because I ran out of white Luxeon. The rest were for my friend's cars. Otherwise, it would be the same design that would yield better results.

Yea that's true... not only that, things get warm too! It stinks... literally.
I'm pretty upset this batch of Luxeons are more "yellowy."
So are the Luxeon reds bright enough to make brake lights?
This is the last thing I'll ever do with lighting mods. Next up is replacing the front and rear sidemarker lights. This is extremely low priority so I'm good for the time being.

I already sell them, they are 7440 bulbs. but they are expensive, nothing you can do about that. the parts are expensive and takes a while to make each one. talking about 8leds per set.
Ive been toying around with the red. certain english fella waiting for me to figure them out . I tried the brighter ones, but had no luck getting them to work, and I have no idea why. gonna toy with them some more eventually.
summers almost here, Im going to supplement them a bit with a few other LEDs spread around. see about lighting up the reflector portion, and some extra in the housing to help out the LED bulb if needed.
