Just to gauge interest, how many of you would be interested in this mod as a DIY kit? It would contain all the parts you'd need (most already assembled) as well as detailed instructions on how to do the install.

Right now I could do definitely do White or Blue. I could do red, but I have not seen any housings that looked good. I'll keep looking though. It would not match the gauges though, it would be bright Red.

Well.. the install isn't too hard, but does require you to take a lot apart. I'm still trying to come up with a fair price for the kit. I'll let you all know soon.
The stock light has always seemed too dim to be useful. Unless I'm looking directly at the tach, I have never noticed the shift light go on when I need it. My 510 has a bright shift light and it is very noticeable and useful.

Post the instructions for free and I will build it myself
Interested? hell yeah I'm interested!
Heheheehe... the parts are the cheap part. My time is what is expensive. It's not the most simple thing in the world to assemble and took me about a week to finally get working 100%. Obviously it wouldn't take that long anymore to make each one, but it would take a couple hours.
I don't know why it wouldn't, but I have to ask. Will this kit work for the G35? Only 1 hour to pull the instrument panel, take apart, solder lead for light, put panel back together and reinstall?
