Lambo Doors - Does anyone know about this company???

I understand. I looked at this too.
There are devices called door poppers that unlock and open your door.
http://www.slickcar.com/productdetai...?ProductID=541
There are also electronic door actuators that can lift the door.

You might want to look at these products. (Cool stuff)

When I was a kid my dad had a car called a Bricklin. It was a Canadian made car that had an all plastic body on top of a metal shell (I always think of the Terminator when I say this "Human flesh on a metal endoskeleton"
It had "gull-wing" doors. When we bought the car they would go up with an oil powered hydraulic lift. It would take them like 15 seconds to open and they made this loud noise as they went up.
When that went bad, he had it replaced with an air powered opener (like a compressor). You would hit the button and it would make this whooshing sound and they would pop all the way up instantly. It reminds me of the sound the doors of the USS Enterprise make on Star Trek.
When you wanted them to go down, you hit the button again, and they would slowly lower as the air was bled out of the line. Another cool sound.
Here is a scan of the ONLY pic we ever took of the car. Remember, this was in 1974!

The SuPie.com CD Instructions...
WHAT A F***ING JOKE!
Not only are these instructions ****-poor... they're a G**D*** rip-off!
I hope I'm the only one that has wasted the $35 bucks to get them. I'm not terribly upset about them money... $35 is small potatoes compared to what I've already put in my car, but the SuPie.com Lambo Door Instructions are the most pathetic, take-your-money-and-run scheme I've seen in a long time.
First off, their site makes it appear they have a specific disk for each brand of car. You select your make to initiate a PayPal payment. Well... the disk is so f***ing generic it's sad. The instructions I received uses a Celica for the demo shots.
Oh.. and the instructions... they're in the form of a powerpoint presentation with very little detail. Just general sentences, like "remove this metal tab". I'm not kidding... that is one of the actual instructions. Doesn't tell you how to remove it. Just shows a picture of the tab on, then the tab off.
And the part about "we'll tell you where to buy your parts"... guess where they tell you to order parts from... Decah! SH*T... why don't I just order their kit then?! There are no detailed specs for any parts and not many clear shots of them to even get a good visual of the parts before they are mounted on the car.
Needless to say, the CD is a worthless piece of crap. I'd be ashamed to admit I purchased it except that I am able to share this information with forum members so you can avoid wasting your money.
As it is, I will now be going with the Vertical Doors Inc kit. Hopefully I can get it and put it on by the end of July. If it seems possible to duplicate their kit with raw materials, I'll see what I can do. However, the hinge looks pretty complex... not sure if my shop can do that or not.
I'd say go ahead and order your own kit if you're thinking about doing this mod. I doubt I'll be able to fabricate kits for anyone... at least not from the worthless CD instructions I got today.

Thanks for the info and for taking one for the team Andy. We all appreciate it.
Maybe the HUGE bonus check you get from SportZ Magazine for writing the ZDayZ review will cover it!

McDuck,
Sorry to hear about that.
I know the feeling. I just got some diamond plate floor mats that were a total waste of money.
These vertical door hinges are made out of 1/2 inch plate steel. The pivot mechanism is unlike any that I have ever seen. Welds are top-notch. The engineer that designed them had the sense to use grease (zerk) fittings as well as multiple set screws for adjustments and limits. The holes for the chasis and door bolts are elongated to facilitate adjustment. The bolts are grade 6 or 8.
It is too early to comment on the gas strut. I hope it lasts.
One last note, I am not sure (if adjustments become necessary) if they can be done without removing the fender. I guess it depends on the type of adjustment.
You got me thinking about replacing the gas struts with electric door actuators

Well... as I said early in this thread, I knew the instructions were a gamble. Sometimes you win... sometimes you lose. I tried to be emphatic above so anyone reading would definitely be put off from following my lead.
As for the doors, I think the Lambos have WOW factor no matter where you are... the electric actuation would be strictly a move for car shows. Just something to set me apart from others with the same mod (thinking of general shows, not Z-car specific events).
